We all dream to a degree about Heaven. Although none of us have seen it, we do see the most beautiful scenery on earth and call it “Heaven on Earth”. Sometimes we have the opportunity to visit eg the Caribbean Islands, the South Pacific, Tahiti, Hawaii or other Polynesian Islands.

At other times we may not have that opportunity, but we can try to recreate that mindset by having a staycation at home. Either way the following ideas and pictures are meant to get you in the mood to be with you spouse and get that Hawaii theme feeling.
If you have privacy in your backyard you can flirt around a lot more than if you don’t.
The best place to get party stuff is at the dollar store. eg Paper parasols, grass skirts cups, plates, tablecloth etc. will get you in a tropical mood. Buy or collects shell. Get artificial flower lei, or the real thing.
Make a big “Aloha” sign eg on an old surf board or again you can buy paper signs.

For clothes, both men and women should get a Sarong. If not just go to a store where they sell cloth by the yard, and buy some colorful tropical fabric and improvise.
Below are some foods to start with, resources and photos just for ideas and inspiration.
- Sweet potatoes
- Tropical fruit such as pineapple, mango and papaya
- Piña colada (without alcohol), Pineapple, Mango, Coconut Drinks
- Pineapple Salsa
- Grilled Shrimp
- Grilled Mahi Mahi or Salmon
Put on Some Hawaii music, get the BBQ going, and have fun with your spouse.
Dance, kiss, act out “Mutiny on the Bounty”. Imagine you’re Mel Gibson as Fletcher Christian seducing the native girl, Mauatu. Pretend you don’t understand each others language. Kiss by rubbing noses. Get a waterfall shower-head and take a shower together. Make love in the privacy of your home.
Our imagination is endless. Even if you are not able to go to Hawaii or Tahiti, remember the greatest joy of a vacation is in planning it and you can have the best of both worlds by having a staycation with your spouse.
